Overview

A Web Developer is a Software Developer who specialises in the development of websites and other web-based content. They commonly work with programming languages like HTML, CSS, PHP, Java and JavaScript. Many Web Developers specialise in either Front End (user-facing) or Back End (server-side) development, or may be proficient in both, which is known as a Full Stack Developer.

You’ll learn to gather requirements from clients, manage website development projects, conceptualise website designs, and develop and maintain websites and databases. In addition, you’ll gain knowledge on search engine optimisation, how to evaluate and select web hosting services and the use of dynamic scripting to create dynamic pages.

This course contains a combination of coding and management units and is ideal to help you take your first steps into entering the website development industry, teaching you to create and manage basic websites from concept to launch. It also provides the requisites to undertake the Diploma that will take your learning to the next level with advanced concepts that allow you to create fully customised websites and hosting solutions.

Websites provide the ‘storefront’ for businesses to reach customers all over the world, and this course gives you the foundation for an exciting career in website development.
