From Single-mum to CEO
Simone Rennocks knows what it’s like to find yourself stuck in a job you hate.
In 2010, despite having a university degree, she was juggling multiple dead end jobs. Struggling to make enough money to pay the rent and raise two children on her own.
She was working overtime so Tanah and Christian didn’t miss out on anything. But Simone was missing out on being a Mum and on a life they could enjoy together.
So she began taking short courses to upgrade her skills. Small steps at first, because that’s all she could fit in around her busy schedule.
Each skill she mastered would lead to a promotion, often to a pay rise and always to a better job.
Employers began to take notice and soon she was being invited to apply for more senior, executive level roles.
By 2019, Simone was CEO of MySkills Australia and in 2022 she bought the business.
